Ronald (Rod) J. Giess
President

Rod Giess has over 32 years experience in software development, marketing, and technology sales.  Prior to founding SBS, he was an eBusiness Account Executive with Policy Management Systems Corporation (PMSC), a major provider of software and services to the financial services industry.
   Before joining PMSC, Giess was the founder and President of Data Results, Inc., which developed and marketed accounting software for the construction industry.   In 1996, the company developed the first online marketplace for the building materials trades.  More than eighty companies throughout the US used DRI’s award-winning accounting system, sold under the brand name Accelerate, when he sold the company in 1998.  

   During the 1980’s and 90’s, Giess was a featured speaker at numerous contractor conventions, giving over 300 lectures on industry-related topics throughout the U.S. 
   Giess started his career at IBM, where he held various positions from Systems Analyst at IBM World Trade, to Marketing Representative for the General Systems Division in Philadelphia, PA.
 He lives in Columbia, SC with his teenage daughter and is active in Forest Lake Presbyterian Church and as a volunteer with the Kairos Prison Ministry.

 

Frank Steddenbenz
VP Client Services

Frank Steddenbenz has worked in information technology supporting the P&C and Life Insurance industries for over 30 years. The last 23 years consisted of managing various combinations of technical, marketing, and operations staff. The range of applications includes developing and implementing insurance software systems, operating inbound/outbound call centers, automating independent agencies — multiple perspectives that blend the focus of business, technical, and operational needs.

    Before joining SBS, Mr. Steddenbenz was Senior Vice President of INSLogic, responsible for the development of core systems used for call-center operations, eCRM, policy servicing, carrier upload/download, third-party information, and Web quoting.   
   Prior to INSLogic, Mr. Steddenbenz was a twenty-year veteran of  PMSC, where he held various positions. As VP of Banking Client Services, he grew the technical and business staff from twenty people to over 150, with over $18MM annual revenue. He also held various management positions, including responsibility for the enhancements and maintenance of the company’s premier enterprise product that became known as Series II. 
    Mr. Steddenbenz lives in Columbia, SC, and is married with three children.
