We are looking for a Senior Java Web Developer. Job duties include: Analyze
data processing problems and analyze user requirements and procedures to
develop new, and improve existing system capabilities. Design, program,
test, evaluate, modify, and enhance moderate to largely complex programs through
the application of in-depth knowledge of a variety of computer programming
languages, tools, and techniques. Design, code, test, and modify computer
programs according to detailed system specifications for clients in the
Property and Casualty Insurance industry, including the development of carrier,
agent, and consumer web portals, and integration into insurance rating
software, underwriting software, and policy administration systems.
Perform analysis, design, software coding, and testing to support Company’s IT solutions
to its customers. Work in intense test-driven development. Write
test cases and test suites for unit testing using JUnit. Analyze,
troubleshoot, research, and recommend technology and/or automated solutions to
meet the needs of clients. Perform component and system monitoring
activities, analyze systems functions, and develop specific action plans.
Develop applications using STRUTS 2.0 framework. Design and develop
computer applications for IT solutions which require knowledge of multiple environments
including JAVA 6.0, J2EE, Struts 2.x, Spring 2.x and Hibernate 3.x framework
deployed on Tomcat Web Container 6.0. Write client side validation using
PROMOS models to develop automated underwriting Business Rules, and Third Party
Information Reconciliation Processes. Use AJAX techniques by using Dojo
libraries for asynchronous web communication. Write JSP pages using
with Hibernate 3.0 for ORM.
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in engineering, computer science, electrical
or electronics engineering, or related field, and 5 years of experience in the
job offered or as a Java developer, analyst or software engineer and
demonstrated experience in JSP/Servlets, JSTL/Expression Language, Struts,
software programs for the property and casualty insurance industry. A
master’s degree and 2 years of experience will be accepted in lieu of a
bachelor’s degree and 5 years of experience. Experience may be acquired
during or as part of education curriculum.
